RAWALPINDI: The crackdown against kite flyers continued as police on Saturday a
rrested at least seven pe
ople in Rawalpindi.
The arre
sts were made because of violation of orders against kite flying.
Despite the ban on kite flying, some people still manufactured and flew kites, disobeying the law.
Crackdowns were started because case
s of injuries caused by kite strings were repo
rted. At least 5000 kites have been confiscated and cases have been registered against the a
rrested.
Police also seized around 4000 kites, rolls and strings.
